Most forest settings are the result of human exploitation. The trees are selected for the quality of their wood, destined to building or for heating. That's why we don't see many species of low yeld, such as mapples, aspens, limetrees, sorb trees, cherry trees... As a result, the fall colors are often limited to the dark greens of the spruces, and the yellow-brown of the beech-trees. Here, a distant clearing was planted of some larches and provided a nice touch of color.
